The Operations Department plays a central role in ensuring the seamless execution of all procedures from the moment crude oil cargoes are sold by Trading until their delivery at the load port.
We handle all cargo-related matters promptly and efficiently, including vessel approvals, documentation issuance, and coordination with the Finance Department on payments and claims (demurrage, quantity, and quality). Acting as the primary link between clients and terminals, Sonangol ensures that the best interests of all parties are maintained, as direct relationships between both ends of the supply chain are not permitted.
Teamwork is the foundation of the Operations Department. With clients and terminal locations across the globe, we manage urgent matters on a 24/7 basis, working in close collaboration with our sister offices in Houston and Singapore.
Training is a key component of our operational strategy. We provide regular training, primarily to personnel from Sonangol E.P.’s Commercial Department. During training, team members are guided through the daily operational workflow and encouraged to take ownership of crude oil cargoes from start to finish, ensuring they develop both strong theoretical understanding and practical expertise.
All communication between terminal operators and lifters is handled through Sonangol Limited’s Operations team, ensuring efficiency, transparency, and compliance at every stage.
